Your story is always one the Spirit brings to mind when I'm thinking of just moving out of my folks' house and getting my own place. Your story is one the Spirit uses in so many hearts and lives. And it IS ALL HIM! Thank you for always pointing to Him and loving us, your friends and family, enough to put this sometimes-awkward subject in front of all of us so that we, too, may be challenged, inspired, and softened to the Spirit's movement. I'll second, or third, or fourth the use of Crown. We went to one of their seminars at the suggestion of our social worker and it totally changed our behavior. Still working through the plan, but we are in such a better position, even after the adoption. Anyway - we miss you on the B-Boards! Hey – just catching up a bit. Vince and I were inspired by that original post last year when we were trying to figure out how we were going to pay for our adoption. (When we still had student loans, etc.) Amazingly God worked in our hearts too and our lives have changed dramatically. We don't have the financial fears or stresses that we used to. It is truly a blessing. Somehow God provided for every cent of the adoption and we are now debt free (except for our mortgage). It is amazing. To spend money as you think God wants you to and really think about every purchase is humbling - but I think humility is what draws us closer to God. God bless your family, Steph Jess,

We aren't completely debt free, but we have also worked VERY hard to keep the debt at a minimum. I definitely think it is a lifestyle and value choice not to succumb to the social pressure of "keeping up with the Jones'." It's just stuff and it clutters the heart. Still hoping for the best!
