Well she is finally here after more than 24 hours of labor. We named our beautiful new angel Eliza Julianne. Eliza means “God is Bountiful” Julianne is because of her two amazing aunt Julies.
Jessica and Eliza are doing very well. The C-Section was not fun but we are so thankful that we decided to do it. At 10 lbs Eliza would have been quite an experience delivering through normal birth methods.
Here all night with us were Jessica’s mom and sister. My mom took the duty of taking care of Jadon while we are in the hospital. Jessica’s dad has also been a great support during this time. My dad is waiting in the waiting room right now having just arrived from Tulsa. We are working on feeding Eliza right now so family gets to wait.
Thank you to all of our wonderful friends and family who have been supporting us and praying for us during Eliza’s birth. We could definitely feel the support we had from you.
Now to the good stuff. Here are a few shots of us during those first few moments with our new daughter. We love her and can’t wait for you to get a chance to meet her yourself.

Note from Jessica: Obviously I won’t be getting any comments about “how great I look after giving birth.” I am okay with that, just keep in mind that these pictures are after 2 almost sleepless nights, 24 hours of labor with a BIG baby who didn’t end up fitting through my pelvis and a c-section with lots of pain meds (but a lack of them in recovery). These were taken after everyone joined me in recovery. Please be kind and take me off the list of beauty pagents for women who just gave birth. Trust me, I understand.

Jess, I hope you have a speedy recovery. 24 hours and then a c-section – you must be one tired mama! (I was tired after 5 hours and then a c-section.) Your family is beautiful and I’m praying that you’ll soak up every minute – even those too-tired-to-think ones!

Jessica…you’re still a beautiful mom even after labor and surgery! I’d enter you in any contest of that variety. Baby Eliza is absolutely beautiful and reminds me so much of when Julie was born. We are grateful to God for a safe delivery and a healthy baby. Love to you all!
I was so blessed to be able to be there through the process. I second what Josh said- Jessica you did amazing. You had a lot thrown at you in a 24 hour period. You’re such a strong woman!
Josh- you were such a strong support for my sister. And already such a remarkable father. I’m so grateful to call you my brother.
I love her name, it’s such a reminder that God blesses us so far beyond what we can ever comprehend. Praise God for protecting her through the delivery, and for her health. I CAN’T WAIT FOR HER TO COME HOME!

Oh sweet Jessica, there is NO need for that kind of talk. As I looked through your pictures, I truly thought how beautiful you looked. I’m not exaggerating.
I remember thinking how I might not look so bad since I was being induced too – since I had a chance to take a shower and put on makeup… But since my story is oh, almost the EXACT same story as yours, I too felt “rode hard and put up wet” at the end.
But you should have no shame about how you looked. You look like a beautiful, happy – albeit tired – mother of two!
Jessica you are too hard on yourself the pictures are great! We are so happy for you and will pray for a speedy recovery.

My sister had two c-sections with very big babies, 10 lbs, 4 oz, and 9 lbs, 4 ounces. C-sections can definitely be a good thing!
