Here are some pictures from Jadon’s big day!!
He LOVE LOVE LOVES Cars!!! Anything cars, but especially the movie “Cars.” He loves to go “vrumm, vrumm” while pumping his arm. HOW did he get so big!!!!???? Someone tell me! I was just looking at video of my chunky baby taken 9 months ago! 9 MONTHS!!!
He blew out the candles all by himself!! How he learned that, we don’t know, but we were so proud of him!

Presents, presents, presents. It’s always going to be a challenge helping our kids not to focus on what they “get” during the months of December, January and possibly February. But he sure has the hang of what to do when a gift is in front of him!
Earlier in the day we spent time at a “jump zone” to play. Jadon had a blast playing with his cousins and his new friend Jacob. There’s a great story of how we met this little boy and his parents.
Okay, so I’ll write a short version of how God has brought this family into our lives. Early in January, Josh and I went to birthing class. We joked the entire way there about how we bet we were the only ones attending “Birth Class” who were kept awake by a toddler the night before. Come to find out, we were wrong!! One of the first couples we met mentioned they had a toddler too. . . who was adopted also. . . . from Guatemala!!!
Turns out Sarah and Tony were in Guatemala at the same time adopting Jacob who is 3 months older than Jadon!!! They have almost the exact same story of having a heart for adoption, facing infertility issues, starting their family with adoption and then getting pregnant with a biological child. From our first lunch together we’ve been blown away by our similar experiences, passions and hearts for Guatemala, adoption, families made of adopted and biological children, infertility, pregnancy after adoption, our boys, but most importantly, our love for Jesus.
Sarah is due this week and I am due next. How cool is that?!?!

Oh my heart is so sad to not celebrate this birthday with Jadon. I seriously can’t believe it’s been a year since we were celebrating his first birthday with y’all.
