some Guatemalan Adoption news

I get an adoption news letter and this was in it today.

U.S. FORESEES END TO GUATEMALA’S HALT OF INTERCOUNTRY ADOPTIONS
The president of the Directive Council of the National Council on Adoption (CNA) in Guatemala confirmed that no new international adoption cases would be accepted so that the country can focus on establishing accreditation guidelines for adoption agencies and completing transition cases, according to a Sept. 11 notice issued by the U.S. State Department. The notice said CNA expects it will be ready to complete Hague requirements by January 2009 and that adoptions will be resumed thereafter. To read the notice, go to: http://travel.state.gov/family/adoption/intercountry/intercountry_4368.html. For more information about CNA’s decision, go to: http://www.cna.gob.gt
