60th Annual Cherokee Family Reunion

Here are some pictures of my family reunion we went to in Oklahoma at the begining of June. It was our 60th reunion extending from my great-grandparents who traveled the Great Plains establishing Quaker churches in the late 1800s, early 1900s. I think there were over 150 people there at one point.

I was so proud to have Jadon there. The entire family was ecstatic to meet him too! We got to have an extensive conversation with a extended uncle who is an archaelogist. He is in love with the Mayan people and history as much as we are. He has traveled many times to Guatemala (he crossed paths with panther while camping in the Mayan Ruins in Tikal!).

It was so wonderful to introduce Jadon to his second extended ancestory, which includes camping in Oklahoma as an important part. :)

Here’s the entire immediate family (my mom, dad, grandparents and aunts)

Jadon’s special breakfast place (where he could sit in his seat and not get stepped on, or rolled over by a wheelchair for that matter)

Four generations

Gettin’ me some Jadon love!

Jadon LOVES being outside and camping! WOO HOO!

Notice, he’s sporting the “I am camping in Oklahoma” muscle shirt. ;)

Josh, me, Jadon and our parents. (Josh’s parents came too)

There will be more pictures to come of our trip to visit our families in Oklahoma, Kansas and Missouri during June. We had a wonderful time.

  1. Very fun to see! Okay, is it just me, or has Jadon become a little boy in like the last two weeks? Seriously, he’s getting so big and grown-up looking! But still cute as ever, of course.
