I’ve been amazed at how big and grown up Jadon is getting. This has made me reflect on where we were in the process at this time last year.

In March of last year Josh and I were hoping and praying things would go fast, thinking of our baby every day but only having 2 sets of pictures and a little birth information to get to know him by. We were waiting the Family Court process to happen where his foster mother, birth mother and attorney all meet with a court appointed representative to review and confirm the intentions of everyone involved. This is the time when his birth mother relinquished her rights for the 2nd, out of 4 times. Jadon also got his blood drawn for a DNA test in order to confirm that the woman surrendering him was in fact his biological mother.

Before March of last year were already deeply in love with the idea of our baby. When we got this picture (taken at his DNA test), we feel madly in love with our little boy. Who wouldn’t?

To those of you going through a tough time right now, I hope this encourages you. I know it doesn’t take away the pain of today, but one day, you too will be in a season of joy and be able to reflect on your journey.

Thank you Jesus, for our precious son. I am enjoying watching him discover the world around him and develop his abilities as he grows out of baby-hood. You alone are to be praised, because it is you who redeems and gives us a time to rejoice.
